Police dealt with 128 unauthorised traveller camps in Northamptonshire last year - a rise of more than 25% against 2011, according to the Countywide Traveller Unit.

Police dealt with 128 unauthorised traveller camps in Northamptonshire last year - a rise of more than a quarter against 2011. That's according to the Countywide Traveller Unit, a group made up of the police, councils and other bodies to improve communication with travellers and enforce the law. Reporter Tom Percival has been to Irthlingborough, where a car park was used by travellers last summer. Stuart talks to Steve Wilkinson, Manager of the Countywide Traveller Unit, and to Sergeant Mark McDonnell, the police's representative on the Unit.
