Tobacco shares and snow

From April Shropshire's councils will be responsible for giving us advice on quitting smoking. But it's been revealed that their pension funds are investing millions in tobacco shares.

It's been revealed that both Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin Councils are investing millions in tobacco companies.

The cash - almost 7 million pounds of it - is held in a joint council workers pension fund.

They're not the only councils doing it - across the Midlands nearly a hundred and thirty million is invested in tobacco in total.

But from April, those same authorities become responsible for public health issues, including help and advice on, stopping smoking.
