The Family - representation

Documentary looking back at the huge impact of British television's first reality TV series, The Family, produced and broadcast in 1974. This controversial series, a precursor to the explosion of reality TV series in recent years, examined the daily lives of a real family in Reading over a six month period. The 1988 programme explored what had happened to family members in the intervening years. Focus here on how the treatment of ethnic minority representation was handled in the media at the time.
