North American Indian tribal dance
The North American 'Clan Nation' introduces the symbolic meaning embodied in different tribal dances. A Cherokee musician uses drums and chanting sounds to create a heart beat for the dancers to perform stamping and stepping patterns to. The difference between male and female dancers can be seen in the movement patterns, expressive qualities and tribal costume. The significance of the eagle can be seen by the feathers worn in tribal headdresses. A tribal member performs the 'hoop dance', symbolising unity and equality within the circle.
