Classical Indian dance - Kathak
We meet a famous Kathak dancer called Antarra Singh. As she prepares to perform Kathak, as part of the Holi Hindu festival, she shares the history of this classical Indian dance and her traditional costume. Kathak is about storytelling through dance and to perform she wears ghungroos, bells tied around her ankles, to create percussion as she dances. She goes to a city palace and explains the story of the dance she will perform. She performs a beautiful dance about Hindu gods Radha and Krishna celebrating the Holi festival together.
