'Arthur: The Seeing Stone' by Kevin Crossley-Holland - Arthur's real identity is revealed (dramatisation)
Dramatised extract from Kevin Crossley-Holland's 'Arthur: The Seeing Stone' in which Arthur's real identity as King is revealed. Arthur gives Sir Kay a sword and is questioned by his father about where he got it from. Swearing on a bible, he says Arthur gave it to him. Arthur is also questioned and describes pulling the sword from the stone. They all go to the stone and Arthur replaces the sword but both Kay and his father try unsuccessfully to remove it. Arthur then takes it out and is told he is King, and that the man he thought was his father is actually his stepfather.
