Stella has built a machine to power a radio. She explains how the potential energy in the bucket of water is converted into kinetic energy as it falls. This turns a wheel which powers a dynamo, and the kinetic energy is converted to electricity, sound and heat. Finally, the electrical energy is transferred to a radio which is converted to sound and heat. About 6% of the potential energy in the bucket of water is eventually converted into sound energy in the radio.
