What does a thermostat do and how does it work?
A thermostat is used to control the temperature of an incubator for hatching birds' eggs. Femi and an expert discuss the use of an incubator to keep birds' eggs at the precise temperature needed for them to survive and hatch. They must be kept at between 36.8Β°C and 37.8Β°C. A thermostat fitted to the incubator senses the temperature and turns on and off as needed, maintaining the incubator temperature within the required range.
