Magnetism
The Ancient Greeks discovered lodestones 2,000 years ago near the town of Magnesia. These stones had a strange property to attract other metal objects; they called this βmagnetismβ. They discovered the magnetism could be transferred to a nail when it was stroked along a piece of lodestone.
