Julius von Sachs became Head of the Botanical Institute at WΓΌrzburg University in 1868. He wanted to know why plants need light.
Professor Markus Riederer and Timothy Walker recreate von Sachs' famous experiment to show the role that sunlight plays in the production of starch.
