Part 10: Britten's Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra
Benjamin Britten (1913 - 1976) - Fugue from The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra
Andrew Manze conducts all the instruments of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Scottish Symphony Orchestra in a Fugue, based on the melody played in Purcell's Rondeau from Abdelazar. In this piece the instruments of the orchestra enter one after the other, with melodies that all fit together to make the contrapuntal texture of a fugue.
