What was it like to work in a deep shaft mine?
The deep shaft mine at Orgreave in Yorkshire provided employment to many people in the surrounding villages, including Treeton. Former miners describe what it was like to work in a deep shaft mine and describe the dangers involved. This is illustrated with archive footage. The closure of deep cast mines in the 1980s was unpopular with miners and archive footage of the miners' strikes is used to illustrate this.
