The whole of China comes to a standstill at Chinese New Year, or 'Spring Festival', as it is more commonly known in Chinese. People flock to the parks to join in more traditional festivities during the day. In the evening, they relax in front of the television to watch China Central Television's biggest extravaganza of the year.
