Encouraging solar power
Householders are being subsidised to install free solar roof panels. Fuel companies are paying for installations of as much as Β£20,000 per house and paying for it by taxing non-solar-panel users. The result is a rise in net solar power usage, at no cost to the government. The individual householder gets electricity savings of up to 50 percent at no personal cost. Can anything be wrong with this idea?
