Former footballer and pundit John Barnes investigates his family history
Best known for playing football for Liverpool, John Barnes also represented England 79 times. However, John wasn’t born in England but came to the UK when his father, a colonel in the Jamaican army, was posted here as military attaché. When John was a teenager his family returned to the Caribbean but he stayed to pursue his dream of playing professional football. Now a football pundit and commentator, John admits that he is fairly opinionated. John is starting his investigation in to his family history by finding out more about his grandfather’s political activities.
