Gravesham reveals plans to free up under-occupied council houses

Matt Davison and Emma B sit in with the latest news, travel, and weather for Kent.

Gravesham Borough Council wants to pay tenants to downsize to smaller properties if they have spare bedrooms.

Since 2001, the number of people waiting for a council property in the borough has soared by 150% (06:06, 07:07 and 08:08).

Also, a couple from Ashford say it felt like getting a kick in the teeth when they were told they were not a priority to get an appointment to see their consultant after losing their second still born son.

Amy, from Kennington, gave birth to Finley at 34 weeks on 13th August after his heart stopped beating in the womb. She says, her care by staff at the William Harvey Hospital at the time was outstanding - but since then she has been frustrated trying to find out from her consultant why the latest tragedy occurred.

She was told she might have to wait two months to get an appointment (06:22 and 08:22).

New proposals for a floating airport in the Thames Estuary have been unveiled.

Proposals for London Britannia Airport include four floating runways tethered to the sea bed.

The design allows for future expansion to accommodate six runways when required.

We speak to the project director of the latest proposal (07:22).
