An exclusive Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Kent survey reveals varying appetites for boosting sports provision, among our local authorities.
The results come as the Paralympic torch makes its way to the stadium in East London, where the Games will be opened by the Queen, tonight (06:07, 07:07 and 08:07).
Also, plans for thousands of new homes in North Kent that have been stuck on the drawing board for more than a decade are finally getting the go-ahead.
More than 22,000 homes will be built in the Kent Thameside region over the next 20 years. The first phase of houses, at Eastern Quarry near Dartford, will be built after a deal was reached between the government, councillors and developers (06:22, 07:22 and 08:22).
Disabled people have been protesting outside the Chatham office of Paralympic sponsors, Atos in opposition to its involvement in the games.
The company has been criticised for its role in carrying out assessments of people claiming incapacity benefit.
The campaign group, Medway Against the Cuts, says it was inappropriate that the company was allowed to be a Paralympic sponsor (07:48 and 08:48)
