Dads over 40 are riskier to a baby's health than older mums according to a new study.

In the first study to look at the consequences of older men becoming fathers, it found that the sperm of older men has more DNA faults likely to cause miscarriage, Down's syndrome, autism and mental illness than those in an older mother's egg.

Is it selfish to be an older parent? Do older mums and dads put their future children at risk? What are the advantages of having kids when you are older compared to younger couples?

Over half of people's fruit and vegetable are not washed before putting it in their lunchbox.

Professor John Oxford, Chairman of the Global Hygiene Council has just released a study that will make a lot of parents cringe. 90% of surfaces touched when making a simple meal, like a school lunchbox, can be contaminated with bacteria.

He runs Emma B through his findings and recommendations for staying clean in the kitchen (10.20).

And only 15% of statues in the UK represent females. A study also found that Kent's Olympic double gold medal winner Dame Kelly Holmes was the public's top choice to become the subject of a new statue.

In fact a life size statue of Dame Kelly has been made and is to be donated it to the village of Pembury where she was born.
