Village Speeders Live Where They Speed

Police found a high proportion of those caught speeding through Cogenhoe & Brafield-On-The-Green were actually from the area. Also, is the election for Police and Crime Commissioner too political?

Police found a high proportion of people caught speeding through Cogenhoe and Brafield-on-the-Green were from the villages and immediate area. Stuart talks about speeding villagers and how the issue should be tackled with PC Dave Lee from Northamptonshire Police, to Mike Sumner who ran the speedwatch campaign in Finedon and to Kevin Clinton from ROSPA. Reporter Rebecca Dickson is in Cogenhoe to talk to Elizabeth Packer who lives there and helped run the community speedwatch in the village. Rebecca also visits Brafield-on-the-Green to meet Jill Morgan, the Chair of the Parish Council.

Stuart talks to Kevin Shapland, a former Met Police Officer, who says he's being put off running as an Independent Candidate for Police and Crime Commissioner for Northamptonshire because he thinks the election is becoming too political. The issue is also discussed by Dr Stephen Brookes from Manchester Business School, who spent 30 years in the police and decided against running as an independent candidate for Staffordshire's Police and Crime Commissioner, and by Michael Ellis MP for Northampton North and a member of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Affairs Select Committee.

Alex Toft, Operations Director of the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance explains why an emergency car scheme is now being used on Saturday nights when the helicopters are not being used.

Rebecca visits Northampton Museum and Art Gallery to see the tarantulas, scorpions, cockroaches, millipedes, African land snails, locusts and mealworms on display in its Minibeasts exhibition
