SIngle Parents - The Northants Divide

The latest figures on one-parent families underlines the differences between between different parts of Northamptonshire, plus banks are still not supporting small businesses.

The latest figures on one-parent families show that South Northamptonshire has the lowest rate nationally at 5%, but 40% of families in Corby have a lone parent, one of the highest proportions in the country. Stuart talks to Professor Kate Pickett, an Epidemiologist from the University of York, to Caroline Davey from the charity 'Gingerbread', and to Ray Barry from the Equal Parenting Alliance.

Banks are still not lending to small businesses. Bill Pateman runs Makasa Ltd in Irchester which imports cane furniture from Indonesia and he explains what's happened to his business, while Stuart talks to Christopher Cook, an accounting and Finance Expert from the University of Northampton, and to Gary Wilkinson, the CEO of The Cambridge and Counties Bank.
