Does Kent need more faith schools?

Sevenoaks will get a new Christian secondary school next year. It is a state school - so it is funded by taxpayers money but it comes straight from central government. One of Michael Gove's new "free schools". On the school's website under the question "will you teach creationism" it says Christians believe that God made the world in RE we plan to teach about this. Is that the sort of school you would like your child to go to?

Are you delighted that a new Kent school is being brave and bold about it's core religious message. Maybe you think there is too much religion in our schools. Should children be taught creationism, after all the government says it will remove funding from any school that teaches creationism in science - and the Sevenoaks Christian school say they accept this. Should creationism and evolution be taught side-by-side in science lessons?

Can children make up their own minds about what to believe? What are our schools for? Does Kent need more faith schools?

Do you believe in second chances?

Once a young person commits a crime, how should we get them back on the straight and narrow? Can you ever rescue a youngster from a life of crime?

A third of all young offenders go on to re-offend.

We speak to Charlie Johnson a prison officer at Cookham Wood Young Offenders Institute in Rochester. He has just been recognised for his outstanding work in getting 1,000 work placements for 15-18 year old young men.
