Should doctors keep religion to themselves?

Call 08459 811111, email julia@bbc.co.uk or text 81333 (start your message with KENT).

Dr. Richard Scott is a GP from Margate. He is a Christian and occasionally offers patients spiritual as well as medical treatment. He is fighting a complaint which he says could end his career.

It stems from a consultation with a young man in which Dr Scott recommended Christian prayer. Should he have done that?

The patient's mother complained and now the General Medical Council will start hearing evidence today.

Should doctors be force to keep their religion to themselves? Do you sympathise with Dr Scott or do you think he overstepped the mark?

We hear from Dr. Scott (09.06) and we get your views and opinions.
