Northamptonshire County Council's pension fund has Β£14-miilion invested in tobacco companies + East Northants leisure centre staff jobs at risk

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Northampton has learnt that Northamptonshire County Council's pension scheme has 14 million pounds invested with tobacco companies, even though local authorities will soon be responsible for stop smoking schemes and education on the risks of smoking. Stuart talks to the County Council's Chief Executive Paul Blantern.

More than 50 staff at the Nene Leisure Centre in Thrapston face redundancy because the centre will close in September for its leaking roof to be replaced. Lisa Hyde, head of customer and community services at East Northamprtonshire Council, tells Stuart what's happening and also outlines the improvement work that will take place at the Pemberton Centre in Rushden.

The British Red Cross says that the elderly and vulnerable are being put at risk by cuts to home based social care. Stuart talks to Justin Prescott, the Service Manager for Health and Social Care for the Red Cross in Northamptonshire, and to Councillor Robin Brown, the councillor responsible for adult social care at Northamptonshire County Council.

Councillor Tim Hadland, from Northampton Borough Council, explains why the St John's surface car park in Northampton is closing.
