Is it wrong to sell an Olympic torch?

Kent has 220 Torch bearers described by Locog as "inspirational people who will carry the Olympic Flame, inspiring million of people watching in their community".

Each of the torchbearers who will carry the Olympic flame over the coming weeks are entitled to buy the torch for around two hundred pounds. They cost Β£415 to make.

One Olympic torchbearer has sold hers on ebay for a massive Β£153,000 before she has even run with it. Sarah Milner-Symonds runs with the torch this afternoon but she has already flogged it on ebay. She says its unclear yet whether the top bid is genuine. She has also received abusive emails from people who think what she is doing is wrong. Is it?

Another torchbearer cancelled his ebay sale when bids reached Β£3,000. He said he needed the money, but clearly did not enjoy the abuse his aborted sale generated.

Sarah by contrast plans to give the proceeds of her torch sale to a community gardening chairty. Does that make it okay?

Should you always stand for the National Anthem?

Three women have been chucked out of a cafe for refussing to stand. The tearoom is called the "Royal" tearoom and was opened in honour of the Queen's jubilee. Was the owner right to tell them to stand or leave?
