Are we really a nation of animal lovers?
Figures from the RSPCA show more than 1,300 people in England and Wales were convicted of animal cruelty last year - a rise of almost 25%. The charity says it is being stretched to breaking point by having to deal with so many cases.
Are you a dog lover? Cruelty to dogs in the South East has risen by more than a third in just one year. Why is that?
Is it the recession? Money is tight and pets are expensive.
Are we angrier? As a society are we taking out our aggression on our animals?
Is it ignorance? We rush out to buy the lasted new breed of dog without any kind of thought to how much it is going to cost us long term, its health needs, the vet bills, the time given over to walking and exercising.
Is it too easy to own a pet? Should all potential pet owners be vetted? Is it time to bring back the dog license?
With animal cruelty on the up - what would you do to stop it?
Do you have a will?
Is it one you had written by a solicitor, did you do it yourself, with a kit or online?
New regulations are being proposed to cover will writing services, after research showed that 20% of wills contained mistakes.
We speak to will expert and solicitor, Stuart Goodbody.
We hear you views and stories.
