Music Nation: A Sporting Fanfare - trailer

Join celebrated violinist Nicola Benedetti, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Scottish Symphony Orchestra and its renowned conductor Donald Runnicles for a spectacular concert on the banks of the River Clyde in Glasgow.

The National Youth Choir of Scotland and the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland will perform alongside the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ SSO, with students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and young people from the Big Noise project based in Stirling’s Raploch Estate.

The concert includes John Williams’ Olympic Fanfare, Vangelis’s theme music from Chariots of Fire, Ravel’s Bolero, Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, and the world premiere of a fanfare from James MacMillan, one of Scotland’s leading composers.

This evening from Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Scotland celebrates the uplifting power of classical music and sporting excellence by bringing together world-class performers and the best of the country’s young musicians and singers together with inspirational stories from some of Scotland's top athletes from past and present.
