Kent drug testing kits campaign backed by government

The prime minister wants to see drug testing kits in police cars, following a campaign by Lililan Groves' family, a teenager knocked down and killed by a speeding driver who had been smoking cannabis.

The prime minister says he wants to see roadside drug testing kits introduced in all police cars. It follows a campaign by the family of Lililan Groves, a teenager from Biggin Hill who was knocked down and killed by a speeding driver who had been smoking cannabis.

Kent's hospitals are using debt collection agencies to recover hundreds of thousands of pounds owed to them by foreign patients.

Across the country, unpaid bills of Β£30m have been issued to patients who came to the UK for hospital treatment but left before paying up (06:20, 07:22 and 08:22).

For many it is a blot on the landscape and a blight on their lives, the M25. However, a coach company in Sussex has decided to turn it into a tourist attraction. And round trip along the entire stretch of the London orbital including the sections in Kent has proved so popular that the Brighton and Hove Bus and Coach Company has already doubled the number of the trips it is offering (07.53).
