DI Richard Poole is flown to the caribbean island of Saint Marie, from London, to investigate the suspicious murder of a British Cop. As a typical English policeman he is completely lost in the Caribbean, he hates being - its so hot, full of insects and there' sand everywhere . Richard thinks he's doing well when he arrests a suspicious French cleaner for murdered and people smuggling. Will this finally solve this impossible case and can he finally get back home and the feel damp drizzle on his face again.
