Test Driving India's New Highways

If there's anywhere that shows off India's dramatic social and economic progress, it's the country's roads.

In an attempt to accommodate the millions of new cars screeching their way through towns and villages, the Indian government is spending Β£10 billion a year to build an incredible 15 miles of new roads every single day .

But it isn't just the highways that are changing. As it tries to position itself firmly on the world stage, India now has its very own Formula 1 Grand Prix.

In the first part of India on Four Wheels, Justin Rowlatt travels to Noida, home of the Buddh Formula 1 Race Circuit, where he test drives one of the many new highways built to accommodate the nation's car boom.
