Video: Holden Clough Nursery
When John Foley took over his dad's nursery with girlfriend Kate in 2009 they saw an opportunity to grow more quality perennials. Living in Lancashire with its epic rains and hard frosts, they knew that if a plants grew well on their nursery it would grow well almost anywhere else in the UK!
John and Kate hope to bring Hemerocallis (day lilies), Achillea (yarrow), Astilbe (False goat’s beard) and crocosmia among others to Tatton where they hope to get a Gold. In 2010 they just missed out on the revered medal by one point, hopefully they wont have the same outcome this year.
