Video tour: Tourism Malaysia Garden, designed by James Wong & David Cubero
This is James and David’s second Gold medal winning garden at Chelsea. People might recognise James from his TV appearances on Countryfile and Grow Your Own Drugs.
The garden is inspired by the ravine ecosystems of Malaysia and the internal courtyards ubiquitous of the hot and humid country. A sunken pavilion is surrounded by water and tropical plants including a waterlily, which needs a specially heated root zone to survive in the UK, fill the pebble-lined pools. Many of the plants in this garden may be recognised as houseplants commonly used in the UK.
