Video tour: The Skyshades Garden, designed by Marney Hall
The ecologist and native plant expert is back at Chelsea after a break of five years since winning silver-gilt for her Forehead garden in 2006. Using her knowledge of ecosystems and habitats enjoyed by a variety of wildlife her design fits a hot herb garden, woodland, a meadow and stream into the 10x10m space showing that you can create an incredibly diverse garden in a small space.
Inspired by the rise in the number of people wanting to work from home, Marney has incorporated an office which is just as friendly to the environment as the rest of the garden. Photovoltaic cells run along the roof which is also planted with low growing species, ensuring the office can run on it’s own energy.
