Donald Schon argues that diffusion of ideas is elemental to society's progression in his fourth Reith lecture entitled 'Spread of Innovation'.

Co-founder and director of the Organization for Social and Technological Innovation Donald Schon delivers his Reith lectures on industrial technology and social change in his series entitled 'Change and the Industrial Society'.

In this lecture entitled 'Spread of Innovation', Donald Schon focuses his attention on the concept of a diffusion system, which is how new things tend to spread through society. He argues that our ability to spread things depends entirely on the infrastructure of technology, and evolution to such a system is absolutely critical to how our society works.
