Local election results in the Kent, Sussex and Surrey

Dom hears how Labour takes control of Gravesham Council from the Conservatives and how Liberal Democrats lose seats on councils in Sussex. Also, Dom gets analysis from Professor of Politics Tim Bale.

Dominic King hears from Labour leader Ed Miliband as he visits Gravesend to celebrate his party's gain of control of Gravesham Borough Council from the Conservatives.

Dom crosses live to the count in Lewes where Liberal Democrats lose control of the local council. He also hears how Lib Dems hold on to Eastbourne council but with a reduced majority.

Dom discusses the local election results in the south east with Norman Baker, Liberal Democrat MP for Lewes, Damian Green, Conservative MP for Ashford in Kent, Caroline Lucas, Green MP for Brighton Pavillion and leader of the Green Party and Paul Clark, former Labour MP for Gillingham and Rainham.

Plus, Dom gets analysis from Tim Bale, Professor of Politics at the University of Sussex, Sir Robert Worcester, founder of the opinion pollsters MORI (now Ipsos MORI) and our Political Editor Louise Stewart.
