The long memories of Peru's voters
From villages on the slopes of the Andes, to the fishing ports on the Pacific coast, Peruvians will cast their ballots on Sunday and elect a new President. The incumbent Alan Garcia has been in power for two terms and can't stand again. Peruvian politics can be a rough game, and democracy hasn't always prospered. But out on the campaign trail, Dan Collyns found plenty of enthusiasm for the current contest....
Venezuela: not quite a motorist's paradise
Venezuela is awash with oil, so petrol comes cheap and a trip to the garage doesn't hit the wallet too hard. But finding a vehicle that's worth filling up is far more challenging. As Sarah Grainger explains, red tape and economic policies turned her search for a small city car into a major undertaking.
