Dom talks to Assistant Chief Constable Robin Merrett about Sussex Police's plans to reduce the opening hours of its police station front counters. The station in Brighton would shut its doors between midnight and 8am. The front counters at stations in Peacehaven, Lancing, Durrington, Petworth, Selsey, Arundel and Heathfield will be open by appointment only. The plans have gone to Sussex Police Authority for approval.

The campaign group Fair Fuel UK is warning of a fuel price crisis after the price of a litre of unleaded petrol reached 拢1.41.9 at a garage in Kent. The forecourt on the M2 near Gillingham is also charging 拢1.45.9 for litre of diesel.
