Front Line Afghanistan: RIR in Helmand province
Here is the first in our series of reports from Afghanistan where soldiers from the Royal Irish Regiment and the Irish Guards are serving as part of the International Security Assistance Force or I-SAF. Our reporter Mervyn Jess spent a week with them.
He reports on how the soldiers, many of them from Northern Ireland, are battling insurgents on the front line in Helmand province where bombs called IEDs - that's an Improvised Explosive Devices - pose the greatest threat.
