Irish Election: Adams on the campaign trail
Despite criticism of his grasp of economics, Gerry Adams insists he will represent Sinn FΓ©in in any leadership debates during the Republic's election. Two weekend opinion polls suggested Sinn FΓ©in is sitting on between 10 and 13 per cent of the vote - not far behind Fianna FΓ΅il on 16 per cent. Mr Adams is battling candidates from Fine Gael, Fianna FΓ΅il, Labour and the Greens as he seeks to win a seat in County Louth.
