Leaping for land
Emperor penguins feeding out at sea must return to land to feed their chicks. But they are nervous about returning to shore because the ice edge is often patrolled by waiting leopard seals. These predators will easily take a penguin that strays too close. When the penguins are happy that the coast is clear they all make a quick dash for the land.
