Warpaint - Undertow (Sound of 2011)
Warpaint have been included in the longlist for the Sound of 2011.
With a highly regarded EP and LP release already under their belts, Warpaint seem set to take their post-punk success to a new level in the next twelve months.
The group were patient in developing their sound, preferring to rehearse in seclusion before bringing early tracks to a live audience and eventually London label Rough Trade signed the four piece. Tours in support of The xx, Akron Family and School Of Seven Bells built on an encouraging live reputation forged during March 2010's SXSW as the UK broadsheets began to take notice.
A cover of Ashes To Ashes for War Child's David Bowie tribute album in September quickened the ground swell of attention which came to a head with the widespread critical acclaim of October release The Fool from the likes of NME, The Guardian and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Music.
