The Isle of Wight is one step closer to getting two MPs with one constituency split between the island and the mainland.
The House of Commons has voted - and a majority of 81 supported a bill to change constituency boundries across the UK.
In September campaigners against the move handed over a petition signed by 18,000 supporters - 15% of the island's electorate.
It will now be considered in detail by the House of Lords where the decision could still be overturned.
