Leading an organisation is not an easy thing to do, and leading a 21st Century organisation may be much more difficult than in the 20th century.

"Globalisation" has led to the rise of new economies, new companies and striking new organisations from new places, such as India and China.

The push into public prominence of the Indian leaders is a striking phenomenon at the top of big multinational corporations, and in leading management schools.

Peter Day hears from two Indian chief executives, Vineet Nayar and Suhas Gopinath.

Vineet Nayar is CEO of the global information technology outsourcing group HCL Technologies, based near Delhi with 64,000 staff worldwide. He has found a way of motivating his staff enabling the company to grew throughout the credit crunch recession we are still living through.

And Suhas Gopinath was only 14 (and still at school) when he launched an internet website ambitiously called Globals Inc. At the time he was acclaimed as the youngest chief executive in the world. At the age of 24 he's still there running a firm with a now international presence.
