Euan McIlwraith discovers whether it is really possible to generate your own energy and a cash windfall. Many people dream of being free of the UK’s reliance on fossil and nuclear fuels, and for Hugh Piggot that dream is a reality. In 1975 Hugh moved to Scoraig, near Ullapool. With no road in, and no mains electricity, Euan discovers he looked to the wind for his energy needs.
