Preparing the vegetable patch
Local gardening expert Russell Jones explains how he prepared the bed for the vegetable patch used by the Snowdonia 1890 families. Most Victorian smallholdings grew basic crops like potatoes, oats and root vegetables. The cottages are at high altitude and need protecting from the climate and harsh winds.
