David Murray and his father Alec have neighbouring farms near Aberdfeldy where they have a small-scale hydro generation scheme. The intake weir is on David鈥檚 farm up the hill and the turbine house is on his Dad Alec鈥檚 farm at the bottom. The mini-hydro generates 900kW and has transformed their business.

The electricity is sold and used locally to power approximately five hundred homes. Landward investigates the potential for mini hydro schemes in other areas of Scotland.
