The father of the first female US soldier killed in combat in Iraq reflects on his loss.

SISTERS IN THE COMBAT ZONE
John Witmer's family hit the headlines in America in 2003 when his three daughters all joined the forces to serve in Iraq. Twins Charity and Michelle and their older sister Rachel were deployed to Baghdad in March 2003. In 2004 Michelle became the first female US solider to be killed in conflict. Six years later, John is still dealing with his daughter's death.

RETURN TO KABUL
Meena Baktash from the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Pashto and Dari Service grew up in the Afghan capital, Kabul, in the 1970s. Like any teenager she spent those years dreaming of her future. She left the country in the early nineties and became a journalist. Now she has returned to Kabul to find out how her family has been affected by years of conflict.
