Looking back at Luton Carnival 2010

The latest reggae releases from all over the world.

I want to thank all who made themselves available to give me a hand in working the mainstage at Wardown Park for Luton Carnival 2010.

Tippa Irie is a friend of mine and he put on a fantastic show as he performed hit after hit including the one he collaborated with the Black Eyed Peas called Hey Mama.

Tippa had the crowd in the palm of his hands and as a true reggae pro he finished off his set by getting the crowd to join in.

Tippa told me he has a new album coming out soon and we will be talking to him about this and his thoughts about the Luton carnival very soon.

I had the honour and pleasure of meeting backstage a true reggae legend his name Johnny Clarke. He took the music to another level by performing on stage with some of his classic hits.

He is a reggae act whose career spans three decades and he still has a busy schedule.

The day before the carnival he had just arrived from France after performing out there as he did two days before where he was in Italy.

As a roots reggae singer the crowd appreciated his concious vibes and stayed right to the end to enjoy a true reggae great. As I said I had a good chat with him backstage and his manager Nicky Ezer arranged with me to do an interview with him so listen out for that on the show soon.

Finally I would like to thank Pax Nindi Executive Director for the Global Carnival Centre for giving me the opportunity to take the stage at Luton Carnival 2010 and look forward to working with them again soon.
