Business Daily today mixes oil and water. How bad could it get for BP if the US throws the book at them? Steve Evans speaks to Tom Ajamie, one of the top oil lawyers in Texas, and finds out what BP's legal defence might be and what the US government might do to squeeze maximum money out of the company.
Mr Obama believes the wider lesson is that the cost of oil to the environment now demands a serious move away from it - like President Carter tried to do in the seventies. But efforts then to persuade America to alter the thermostat and wear another sweater - which he did himself in the White House - went nowhere. Steve speaks to Dr Jay Hakes who was part of the Carter administration and is now director of the Carter Presidential library.
Plus the Nigerian finance minister, Segun Aganga, tells Steve of the blessings and curses of oil.
