Better bee
Kate Humble talked to beekeepers all over the country last year and they all had a terrible year. Beekeeper Phil Walker tells Kate that it was because of the bad spring - the weather was so bad the bees couldn't go out to collect pollen. The best thing that the public can do to help bees is to grow more flowers. There are flowers for bees and bees for flowers, such as lavender for honey bees. Pensthorpe has a conservation farm with wildflowers which is good for bees. In just three days in the wildflower area, one beehive has filled its combs with honey. It looks like it might finally be a good year for the honeybee.
