Kai Eide, Former UN Special Representative to Afghanistan
Kai Eide talks about his two years in Kabul for the UN, and confirms he met some of the most senior Taleban leadership in secret talks.
Kai Eide was the UN's Special Representative to Afghanistan until earlier this month.
On The Interview with Lyse Doucet he talks about his two years in Kabul, the ongoing talks he had with prominent Taliban leaders over political and humanitarian issues.
He's also strongly critical of Pakistan for its recent arrest of Taliban leaders which shut down these channels of communication. Kai Eide says it is a setback to finding a lasting solution to the conflict in Afghanistan.
